Community Calendar - 2010 July 17 - Farmers Market Begins The McComb Farmers Market will be held every Saturday morning from 9:00 to Noon at the McComb Park. The event is sponsored by the McComb Lions Club and features fresh homegrown produce, baked goods and craft items. If you would like to sell items at the market please contact the McComb Lions at mccomblions@hotmail.com or visit the market to purchase space. Please note that sales are restricted to produce, baked goods and homemade crafts - no other items please! We plan to have the market every Saturday morning except the weekend of the Cookie Fest which is August 7. Hope to see you there. August 1-5 VBF (Vacation Bible Fun) The McComb Community Vacation Bible Fun, “High Seas Expedition” will be held at the McComb Community Park on August 1-5 from 6:00 to 8:45 p.m., with a FREE meal for participants served at 5:00 p.m. each evening supplied by each of the churches. The churches involved with this fun filled Expedition are Living Stones Fellowship, McComb United Methodist, Portage Chapel United Methodist, McComb First Presbyterian and St. John’s Lutheran. August 7 and 8 - McComb 6th Annual Cookie Festival The McComb Community Partnership would like you to mark your calendars for the 6th Annual McComb Cookie Festival. August 13-14 - McComb Community Wide Yard Sale The Yard Sale this year will be advertised in the Findlay Courier. There will be no permit or fees this year and there will be no map. August 14 - McComb High School Class of 1970 40th Reunion The McComb Class of 1970 will hold their 40 Reunion on August 14, 2010 and Waldo Peppers Restaurant at 411 S. Main St., Findlay, OH from 6:30 to 10:30 PM. For more information, Click Here. October 7 and 8 - Fall Clean-up This year's fall clean-up will be Thursday, and Friday, October 7 and 8. The Village workers will be picking up brush, limbs, leaves and any other yard waste. These items must be brought to the curb to be picked up. Items in plastic bags will not be picked up. The regular Village leaf pickup will still be performed as in the past. From now until October 7 & 8 , the village brush pile is open for any Village resident to drop off their items in the properly marked locations at the Waste Water Treatment Plant located in back of the lane off of Scott Street. The Village asks that signs be read and items be dropped off at the proper place. Thanks for your attention to this Village service. October 17 - Church Tours Planned The Hancock Christian Clearing House will host a Historic Church Tour on October 17 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Locations include: McComb Church of Christ, McComb First Presbyterian Church, McComb United Methodist Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church of McComb, Gateway Church, and Stately Raven Book Store. Come explore history and architecture in rural Hancock County. It will start at 5:30 and end at 7:00 pm, with the Halloween Parade on Main Street at 7:30. The parade will start in front of the Fire Station and march downtown to the front of the Barbershop.
